About Flat Out

In the thrilling world of Flat Out, a devastating epidemic has swept through the globe, transforming ordinary citizens into relentless zombies. As chaos ensues, the inhabitants of your town find themselves trapped, with only one escape route available: the perilous road leading out of town. It s a race against time and the undead, and you must harness your skills

Judged as a racing game, Flat Out hits the notes you would hope for: a sense of speed, a scoring system based on time, position or distance and tracks or roads that reward memorisation. Under the surface it is a test of risk management and risk management, dressed up in exhilarating presentation.

Tips and tricks

  • Traffic and rivals are predictable: they hold their line. Plan your overtake two cars ahead rather than reacting to the one in front.
  • Look where you want to go, not at the wall you want to avoid. Your steering follows your attention.
  • If the game has upgrades, put the first ones into handling or brakes rather than top speed — control wins more races than raw power at the beginning.
  • On mobile, tilt controls feel exciting but touch buttons are usually more precise. Try both before you settle.
  • Because this is a Racing game, learn one track thoroughly — the skills transfer to every other track.

Who will enjoy it

Who is Flat Out for? In a word, anyone who enjoys speed, vehicles and shaving seconds off a personal best. In terms of time, think of a single race of one to three minutes, or a longer career if unlocks are involved. How hard is it? Forgiving on early tracks, demanding on later ones. It works on phones and tablets with touch controls, and on desktop with a mouse or keyboard.
