Each time you successfully complete a row or column, you'll create space for additional pieces while also accruing points. This means that each move you make is

Tips and tricks

  • Read the whole board before your first move. In most puzzle games the first move is the most important one, and it deserves ten seconds of looking.
  • Count. Tiles, moves, colours, matches — many puzzles are secretly arithmetic, and a quick count reveals the plan.
  • Do not memorise solutions, memorise principles. The level after this one will use the same idea in a new arrangement.
  • Work backwards from the goal. Ask what the final state has to look like, then ask what the state before that must be.
  • Because this is a Brain game, the obvious answer is often a trap in brain-teasers — pause before you click.

Who will enjoy it

Who is Hexable for? In a word, players who prefer thinking to twitching, from casual brain-teaser fans to dedicated solvers. Expect a level or two in five minutes, or a long relaxed session. Difficulty-wise it is gentle at the start and genuinely tricky later. The controls are tap and drag based, which makes it comfortable on touch screens as well as with a mouse.
