Judged as a shooting game, Pony Care hits the notes you would hope for: waves or levels that build up, satisfying hit feedback and enemies with distinct behaviours. The skills it leans on are aim and situational awareness; both improve noticeably after a few sessions.
How to play Pony Care
- Start by clicking the big play button. Pony Care loads inside the frame; give it a moment, especially on a slow connection.
- Follow the on-screen prompts. The developer describes the controls like this: Tap the screen to play
- Take a few practice shots at the first targets to learn the aim speed, then move on to prioritising the dangerous enemies.
- When you are comfortable, set a target: a score to beat, a level to clear or a time to shave. Small goals are what make Pony Care stick.
Controls
Here is how Pony Care is controlled, based on the developer's instructions and our own testing:
| Input | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tap (touch) | Tap the screen to play. |
The controls are tap and drag based, which makes it comfortable on touch screens as well as with a mouse.
Tips and tricks
- Learn the spawn points. Most levels reuse the same few entry points, and knowing them turns panic into routine.
- Move between shots. Many shooters make you an easy target only when you stand in one place.
- Prioritise the threat that will hurt you soonest, not the one that is closest or biggest. Fast enemies before slow ones, shooters before melee.
- Aim first, then shoot. Spraying costs time or ammo and rarely helps; a single well-placed shot almost always beats three rushed ones.
- Because this is a Dress Up game, pick a colour theme first and let it guide the other choices.
Who will enjoy it
We would recommend Pony Care to players who like precision, quick targeting and progressively tougher waves. A typical session is levels of a few minutes each, with longer runs in survival modes. The learning curve is approachable at first, with a steep climb in the later waves. The controls are tap and drag based, which makes it comfortable on touch screens as well as with a mouse.
